Victor (Vic) Hernandez is a specialized piano technician and musician. He has been playing piano for over 20 years, has accompanied singers, instrumentalists, and choirs for over ten years, and has been working on pianos for over half a decade. Vic is also a professional singer and has been singing with his non-profit organization, the Sunday Night Singers (SNS Choirs), for ten years; in addition to this Vic also sings at St. John’s Episcopal Catherdal in Downtown Los Angeles. SNS Choirs recently competed in the 2025 Grand Prix of Nations in Aarhus, Denmark winning two gold medals and one silver. Vic also has experience conducting choirs, teaching proper choral technique, and leading rehearsals both as a substitute teacher and as a teaching assistant. His extensive knowledge of both being a piano technician and a chorister has served him incredibly well in his field; for he is able to hear and adjust frequencies on a level much higher than that of an average professional musician with basic aural skills. Vic holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from California State University, Northridge and has pursued graduate studies in Keyboard Collaborative Arts, Balinese/Javanese Gamelan and Dance, and Choral Conducting. Vic started his piano technology studies at the California Institute of the Arts with Alan Eder and Richard Davenport (2022 winner of Golden Hammer Award from the Piano Technicians Guild). Vic lived in White Plains, New York for six months to work at Faust Harrison Pianos’ basement Steinway rebuilding factory where he learned a mass amount of knowledge in piano technology; specializing in disklavier and silent pianos. Vic currently works at the Yamaha Corporation of America as a piano technician who services highly-valued acoustic and hybrid pianos with anticipation of traveling to Japan and Austria for elite training not available in the United States.
For fun, Vic has a second-degree black belt in Taekwondo, loves long distance running (1st place runner in Rare Warrior 10k race 2024), bodybuilding, yoga, and going to the gym.
Vic’s ultimate career goal is to achieve success as a musician. His skillset is truly one of a kind and cannot be matched.
